After the critical panning that Benioff & Weiss received for the ending of Game of Thrones, they've returned with this series for Netflix. It's adapted from a book and was previously a Chinese TV show. This adaptation has been produced by Brad Pitt, Rian Johnson and Rosamud Pike. Eisa Gonzalez and Benedict Wong are part of the cast that also includes Game of Thrones alumni Liam Cunningham and John Bradley.

Our story starts in China during the revolution in the 1960's and then we are taken to modern day Oxford.

Yeah go on then. Looks interesting, will give this a try.

Episode two
Plans are devised to further enhance proceedings in a quest to gain better results. By stopping doing what you love may be beneficial in the long run. Unexpected things can happen but it's not always a good thing.

Episode three
Warnings are given but some are ignored and some are adhered to. Invitations for meetings are sent out and information is shared but sometimes it's not always easy to hear.

Episode four
In the past a partnership is formed that could shape the future, not only for them as individuals but for the universe as a whole. Things that are inherent within humanity could be the reason for our downfall.

Episode five
Extreme measures are taken in order to seek a resolution that some are not happy with the measures that are needed and the potential consequences that might occur. The thing that you thought was right might not be what you thought it was and who you did it for.

Watched it. Got like 1 episode left to watch tonight.

Just another adaptation of a book by a multinational mega-streaming company.

I haven't read the book but it's full of plot holes and extremely ESG and DEI "aware":

If you look at the people involved in the making of this show, you would be inclined to believe it's the next big thing. Honestly, it's just a CW show with Netflix budget.

Watchable but certainly not worthy of the hype.

Episode six
Plans are being started to formulate in a response to the recent series of unfortunate events and the realisation that existence is insignificant when in the presence of something potentially greater.

Episode seven
Some decisions that you choose to make yourself have a bigger effect on the people around you than you do on you. Plans that were envisioned need to be adjusted due to unforeseen circumstances.

Episode eight - season finale
Being given something you don't want is everyone's nightmare but when it comes with a level of responsibility it's never easy in a multitude of ways. When your back is against the wall there is only one way out. No matter how hard you try to get rid of something, it always finds a way to survive.

Liam Cunningham steals the show, closely followed by Benedict Wong and John Bradley. The premise is fairly simple once it is unravelled and provides enough tension to keep you entertained and interested in the story's conclusion.
