  Out: Marc-Antoine Fortuné (Wigan, Free), James Hurst (Valur, Free), Gonzalo Jara Reyes (Nottingham Forest, Free), Jerome Thomas (Crystal Palace, Free), Romaine Sawyers (Walsall, Free), Scott Allan (Birmingham, Loan).
  
  Prediction: 12th
  
  Anelka and Vydra looks an interesting pairing and Shane Long is under-rated too. None of them are Romelu Lukaku though are they? He’ll be a big miss for the Baggies this season and while I think they’ll have enough about them to steer clear of trouble, a repeat of last season’s 8th place finish seems unlikely.
  
  It’ll be interesting to see how Diego Lugano does in English football too. He hasn’t had the best of times at PSG over the last two seasons but is undoubtedly a quality centre-half with plenty of experience.

  i can't see them getting anywhere near eighth place this season. they had an amazing start to the season which kept them going. they wont reapeat that and lukaku was quality for them so he wil be a big miss. i think they might struggle.

  i'm not sure, i think it depends on if the league is like last year where it's tight from tenth place down or if there are three whiping boys. i think they will be safe around 14th i reckon.

  Steve Clarke has confirmed that Nicolas Anelka is considering retirement after the death of his agent. With the amount he's moved about during his career you'd have to imagine that the two would have been pretty close.
  
  The former France international is currently on compassionate leave while he decides on his future. Time is of the essence though with only 11 days remaining until the transfer window closes, and without him the Baggies would be looking dangerously light up front.

  i had a feeling they would struggle this year and losing anelka won't help. i hink long is underated, but tey don't have much else. sinclair is a good signing for them, but he isn't a striker.

  Vydra will do ok I think, and I agree that Long is underrated. If they go with one up front then Sinclair's perfect to come in off the wing and support. Also, not sure how much Anelka would have contributed anyway.
  
  Having said all that, still think they need more options. They looked proper ordinary against Southampton last weekend.

  i forgot they had vydra, it will be interesting if he perform in the premier league this season. he did look quality for watford last year, so he might do okay. their not as short as i though then.

  It's an 18 month contract apparently and he will be working with current staff Keith Downing and Dean Kiely and not his own lads as he initially wanted.
  
  Let's hope he does better at WBA than with Real Betis!!!
