Remember the story that hit the headlines last year involving the Fyre Music Festival and how the whole thing was marketed as luxury but ended up being totally fake? Well there's now a documentary about it and it looks freakin brilliant!
In April 2017, the Fyre Music Festival was marketed as the party of a lifetime. It was billed as a two-weekend luxury experience in The Bahamas where attendees would party with supermodels, watch top bands and stay in luxury accommodation. Tickets to the event set festival-goers back thousands of pounds but what greeted them upon arrival was anything but luxury. Instead of 5-star luxury, attendees were greeted with rickety tents, half-built stages, hardly any security and barely any food. Once the complaints started rolling in, the police got involved who had no choice but to go after Frye’s co-founders Billy McFarland and rapper, Ja Rule.
After the whole mess up, Fyre Fest was investigated and co-founder McFarland was arrested for defrauding investors for millions of pounds and was sentenced to six years in prison. Now, the new Netflix documentary Fyre: The Greatest Party That Never Happened, goes behind the scenes to find out exactly what happened and how it all fell apart. Take a look at the trailer:
