Gambler left furious after Betfred refuses to pay out £1.7 million jackpot

A gambler is suing a betting company after it refused to pay out a £1.7 million jackpot over claims the win was caused by a computer glitch. Yikes. You’d be pretty fucked off wouldn’t you?!

 

Andrew Green thought he’d won the jackpot playing a blackjack game on Betfred's website, and decided to have a huge lavish party to celebrate. But five days later Betfred told him he would not be receiving the money because there had been a "software malfunction". Apparently he was offered a £60,000 settlement, but he turned it down and is now fighting his case in the High Court. He said:
 

Betfred are quick to take people's money but when it comes to paying out they offered money as a gagging agreement. They have buried their head in the sand. How many are there out there who have signed similar agreements? I've been bullied. I'm just a fish in a big sea and they are a great big shark but I'm not going to be forced away just because they are worth billions and I'm not

 
Damn right. I’m no gambler but if a company says I’ve won the jackpot and then blame it on a glitch, there’s definitely something fishy going on. I can’t believe they tried to fob him off with £60,000. Bang out of order.  I hope he takes them to the cleaners. Sneaky fuckers!
