WHAT'S WORSE FOR YOU? ALCOHOL OR COCAINE?

We all know coke and booze isn't good for us, but which one is worse?!? Experts look at the negative effects of cocaine and alcohol and conclude which one is more likely to put you in a early grave.



Let's start with cocaine; The short-term risk is what it does to your heart. Anyone who has dabbled with a bit o recreational chang use knows what it does to your heart. The founder of the Global Drugs Survey Dr Adam Winstock says:

Cocaine is a vasoconstrictor – it makes the heart pump faster while narrowing the blood vessels. It’s like putting your foot on the accelerator while pinching the fuel line.

However, he did mention that it is possible to minimise the risk, depending on how much you take in one go:

On average, 0.5 percent of cocaine users find themselves in hospital with acute reactions to the drug – and users in most countries get, on average, about ten lines out of a gram. But in Brazil they average six lines per gram, and their rate of acute hospital admissions is 3.5 percent.

So basically, don't do so many lines in one night?!?



Scientists say it's the long term effects of cocaine you should be worried about. Which could include permanent damage to the blood vessels of your heart and brain and nose damage (remember Daniella Westbrook?).



This is a video of a coke addict’s heart. It had swelled up to four times its normal size and was beating for half an hour after it had been removed. Yikes! Still though, this a severe addict's heart, not some bloke hooning a few rails on a Saturday night.



Now lets look at booze; We all know it's extremely damaging the liver. Long-term alcohol abuse can lead to cirrhosis of the liver and even certain types of cancer.



In the short-term, drinking too much booze can give you a nasty dose of alcohol poisoning which can cause you to fall into a coma or choke on your own spew. It can also make you think you're billy big bollocks when really you're just an irritating drunk twat.



If you look at the short and long-term damage both of these drugs it's looking like coke is actually better for you. OK, so neither are great, but if you look at the stats you'll see that way more people died this year from alcohol than they did from cocaine.

Regardless of these stats, you'll still do whatever the heck you want to do so just be sure to drink and do your drugs responsibly. Peace!

A lot more people are getting pissed than gakked up, gonna need to see some percentages.  

It should never be about one or the other though, why not combine the two for greater endurance and gentler hangovers?!

I dont understand the question, but thats probably the cheese i smoked last night fuckin with my remaining brain cells, 'alcohol OR coke'? also 'worse' surely 'Both' are required for a successful night out with the dogs.
