UK blocks porn?

UK are considering new legislation that requires households to request their ISP enable adult content in their household.

Apparently, this is to 'Protect our children' but let me ask you this, how many of you think that your life has been detrimentally affected by an over abundance of easily accessible porn?

Personally I think the government should concentrate on running the country properly, and let parents worry about their own kids.

It's just Dave running scared from the Daily Mail. I'm all for protecting but as you say, it should come from the parents. Maybe if they spent less time getting worked up in to a frenzy of moral panic, and more time watching what their kids are up to, everything would be OK!

It's just a smoke screen to avert everybody from the 'real' problems in this day and age. Just like before when they banned video nasties cos it made everyone into crazed killing machines, what a load of bollox.
They are trying to get this through under the guise of child protection and child pornography, and too right too.. but this is easy to do, to block such sites and p2p areas, not every bit of nipple and fanny under the earth, ffs, is Mary Whitehouse still there???

Also a reason to defend the NSA and GCHQ snooping activities? bloody wankers, sort the fuckin country and economy out, stop giving money away to every bleeding heart country, throw the illegals out, bring back good old tele like It Ain't Alf Hot Mum and alf garnett, and stop taking the piss pretending to do it for our 'good'.....

Scotty is right on this, its just Cameron pandering to his superiors, having NO as the default setting will do nothing, there are already parental controls to stop kids getting at porn and if parents cant be arsed setting them on their PCs Mobiles well they're the ones at fault! have some responsibility you lazy fuckers! and as for Cameron saying paedos watch child porn before acting upon it well that's just bollox, these worthless bastards don't need porn to inspire them, the most notorious paedos/child murderers this country has ever seen are Brady/Hindley what inspired them? if hes so concerned with wiping out child pornography why has he reduced funding to CEOP?

Chances are it won't ever happen though, it'll get parked once all the furore has died down.
