Oldham have pulled the plug on signing Ched Evans after someone threatened to rape a relative of a club staff member if the deal went ahead. Sort of like when an anti-war protest turn violent, that, only far more fucking retarded. Evans, meanwhile, presumably in an attempt to smooth things over for the next club to show an interest (it'll happen) has apologised "for the effects that night in Rhyl has had on many people, not least the woman concerned". Nice try Ched, but the internet has already spoken.
And the mood's not getting much lighter with news that Stoke (and Liverpool) have missed out on Xhedran Shaqiri. The Swiss winger has joined Inter on loan until the end of the season, with a view to making it a more permanent affair in the summer. £10m. Bargain.
So Luis Suarez might be on the move, and word is he's heading to Manchester. City and United are both keen apparently, but if only in anticipation for the hysterical reaction of Liverpool supporters, here's hoping he picks the latter. Lionel Messi could be on his way out the Camp Nou too, with Chelsea reportedly getting a £200m bid together. It's almost as though the papers have picked up on Barca's current CRISIS and are using it for a couple of easy rumours...
Wilfried Bony will be a Man City player within the next few days. On his way out of the Etihad though, one Matija Nastasic. The Serbian defender looks set for a £9m move to Schalke. Aston Villa are keen on Scott Sinclair too, but don't much fancy meeting his £2.5m asking price. Bit harsh.
Petr Cech's the man to replace Smokin' Wojciech Szczesny, but not until the summer, Louis van Gaal will sign Tim Krul if David De Gea does one and Brendan Rodgers wants James Milner on a Bosman. Interesting.
