I’ve read some bollocks this summer but it really doesn’t get any better than this. Big shout out to the Metro for reporting that Tottenham are considering signing CARLTON COLE on a free. Apparently he featured in a recent behind-closed-doors friendly for the north London club. Just amazing.
There’s no way that’s getting topped today, but bare with me if you can. Real Madrid president Florentino Perez reckons £85m is quite a lot to pay for Gareth Bale. He’s not wrong, but he’s probably not the man to start screaming prudence either. Spurs still want £100m.
John W Henry has said that Luis Suarez won’t be sold this summer, as Liverpool wouldn’t have time to replace him. Though how hard would it be to replace someone who’ll miss the first 6 games of the season before sulking around in the reserves until January? Even I could do a job. Seems to me like he’s just trying to drive the price up. Crafty.
Not happy with the Daily Star today. Cesc Febregas declared just yesterday that he’d be staying at Barca, yet your number one paper for all the latest Big Brother scoops reckon Man Utd will make one final bid to the tune of £40m. Just let it go. Everton, meanwhile, will reject any approaches for Marouane Fellaini and Leighton Baines and Jose Mourinho will fight until ‘the last day’ to sign Wayne Rooney. Saga.
Paolo Di Canio is poised to revive his interest in Tom Huddlestone, Harry Redknapp admits he’s struggling to get Jermain Defoe down to QPR and Championship football and finally, Stoke are after ex Man Utd stiff Mame Biram Diouf, now of Hannover. Goals aplenty at the Britannia next season then.
