Here we go again. The Daily Star (reliable) claim that Man Utd are in the advanced stages of their attempt to re-sign Cristiano Ronaldo, presumably because they’re not signing Gareth Bale, and because Real Madrid are about to do just that. And why would Real possibly want Bale and Ronaldo in their team anyway? I’m guessing that’s the logic behind it, still not going to happen though.
There’s a wall at Tottenham’s training ground (stay with me) and on that wall is some pictures of Spurs players. Guess who’s not on there? Yep, Gareth Bale. Much like that time there weren’t any pictures of Wayne Rooney in the new Man Utd kit, this is proof positive that the Wales international is on his way. Speaking of Wazza, he might be persuaded to stay Old Trafford providing the fans are nice to him in next week’s friendlies against AIK and Sevilla. That’s fan power for you. Poor, poor Wayne.
All gone a bit quiet on the Luis Suarez front, hasn’t it? Well Liverpool have apparently bid £21m for Atletico Madrid striker Diego Costa, and I think you can draw your own conclusions to the significance of that! There’ll be some Suarez bollocks in the papers tomorrow, just wait. The Reds are also in for Granada’s Brazilian defender, Guilherme Siqueira.
Papiss Cisse, despite being cool with Wonga now, is a target for Trabzonspor. The Turkish side are sponsored by a local mobile phone company if you’re interested, no issues there… Newcastle are still after Loic Remy on loan and Fulham still want Darren Bent. As you were then.
West Ham are chasing Austria striker Marko Arnautovic and Malmo winger Jiloan Hamad. And Spurs could replace Steven Caulker with Steaua Bucharest’s £7m-rated defender Vlad Chiriches.
