The REAL truth behind those magical Disney movies
I'm not Disney obsessed, honest! But I found this pretty interesting so wanted to share it with you cheeky chaps.

If you didn't already know, Disney don't just pluck their movie plots from thin air, they actually get their ideas from classic fairy tales, but they often take artistic license. And by "take artistic license," I mean they leave out important details, like if the main character dies in a gruesome way or if the world is a miserable, unfair place. The comparison between the Disney version and the real version is pretty insane. Although, I can see why they didn't want to stick too closely to the original, that shit is barbaric! No kid would want a toy of Rapunzel's blind bloke with blood pouring from his eyes!

Well, I did a little research on the story of Sleeping Beauty and I should've taken heed because it a pretty grim tale. In Giambattista Basile’s story, a king walks by Sleeping Beauty’s castle and knock on the door. When no one answers, he climbs up a ladder through a window. He finds the princess unconscious so he decides to rape her and then leave. She awakens after she gives birth because one of her twins sucks the flax (from the spindle) out of her finger. The king comes back, and despite him having raped her, they end up falling in love? However, the king is still married to someone else. His wife finds out and not only tries to have the twins killed, cooked, and fed to the king, but also tries to burn the princess at the stake. Luckily, she is unsuccessful. The king and the princess get married and live happily ever after. Erm, WTF!!!

RE: The REAL truth behind those magical Disney movies
Well, that certainly is some dark storytelling there (especially from Sleeping Beauty.blimey). Im guessing that these missing elements from the original tales will be worked into the disney movies somewhere down the line and re released lol..could ya imagine it.
