  Seriously though, I do hope our first hand experience of not being allowed to leave the house means that people go easy with all this stuff. 
  
  Or is it that staying in and meeting people virtually has been normalised now?

  The latter. From what I’ve seen of the younger generation they would rather get home and game communally with some sort of voice or video chat than pop round a mates for a bit of Mario Kart.
  
  A friends son met his online mate for the 1st time in 2 years the other day, finally came over to play a bit of football. You’d think, “ahhh that’s great, which far away town is he from?” Nope, lives a literal 10 mins down the road.
