  but i do think it's a shame when some shows get cancelled after one series or don't know they're getting cancelled so they just end on a cliff hanger like life did, i really liked that show and it just ended with one of the lead characters being taken hostage and the other lead left in a field in the middle of no where if i remember rightly.
  
  while i really like eureka i'm not angry that it's getting cancelled as i think if it carried on much more it could just get silly and not in a good way and they had advance warning to get everything tied up. personally i think scubs should have been cancelled long before it was, i never thought it was that funny and it just got worse and worse.
  
  heroes again started fantasticly, and i even liked the series second to last i think it was when peter had nearly every power and we got to see future kick ass hero but then the last series was shockingly bad.
  
  this thread does seem to be turning into just listing programmes that have ended rather than ones that shouldn't have been cancelled, can't have every show run forever lol.

  
  With Eureka i wouldn`t be all that bothered if there was many other sci fi shows on tv, (i like Eureka, but it`s not my favourite) it`s that because it`s one of the few sci fi shows i have left to watch and it always gets good ratings, so i don`t see why they cancelled it.
  (slightly off topic but i realised that after the final series of Eureka is shown, Fringe will also be finishing not long after, so i don`t think there will be any sci fi shows left, which i think is a shame, they`ve all either ended or for the most part been cancelled)
  
  I have never watched Life, and now knowing it`s got an annoying cliff hanger ending, i`m in two minds on watching it, because even if it`s a good program, there would never be a satisfactory conclusion.
  
  I still maintain that the worst cancellation decision in tv of recent years was cancelling Firefly, deserved many more series.

  well there will still be Alpha's on air, which i'm pretty certain counts as sci fi, even if i know you don't personally watch it.
  
  maybe the best way to look at the lack of sci fi shows is that maybe the channel that shall not be named lol, plans to only have so many at a time so maybe with eureka going it'll mean we'll get a new one? although i doubt it tbh.
  
  i do agree that firefly is without doubt the one very obvious "should not have been cancelled" programme, as it was really good, only got given one series and they didn't get told early so thay had no chance to round up storylines etc... like eureka and fringe are getting.
  
  as for life, i'd actually say it is worth watching, just as i thought it was a really cool programme but it does suck pretty hard the way it ends or rather the way it stops and doesn't end.

  Yeah, Angel was a superb series in its own right. In fact, by the end it had super-ceded its mother series.
  
  Anyway, I nominate Bakersfield PD. It was a quaint U.S. half-hour comedy from the early 90s. A comedy-drama rather than a studio-based sitcom without the dreaded laughter track. A well-written comedy that only last one series, before being brutally axed.

  Where to start. Thinking of long ago cancelled shows, Buffy and Angel spring to mind. So unfair how they were left. Both shows could have carried on for longer. Gimme, Gimme, Gimme is another. I absolultly loved ths show. Another that springs to mind is Ultimate Force. Another superb show that me and my family watched religiously. More recent wrongfully cancelled shows incude The Inbetweeners and Almost Human (with Karl Urban).
