SATURDAY
Chelsea v Arsenal 12:45
Can’t see Chelsea not winning, so by that logic 10/11 is just lovely. Though if you fancy playing it a touch more cautious, how about fewer than 2.5 goals at 3/4? A clean sheet for the Blues at 7/5 is the one though, pile in. No idea who’ll be scoring but 5/1 on Eto’o getting the first one is just about long enough to turn my head.
Prediction: 2-0 (8/1)
Cardiff v Liverpool
Some signs of life from Cardiff lately, but I can’t see them getting anywhere near the Scousers here. The best you can hope is that they might have a consolation in them, so the away win with BTTS at 7/4 might be worth a go. Beyond that, it’s a case of how many for Liverpool. 3+ shouldn’t be a problem at a reasonable 23/20 and 10/3 on Sturridge getting the first of them aint bad either.
Prediction: 1-3 (10/1)
Everton v Swansea
The Toffees made hard work of it against Cardiff last week and I can see this one being tight as well. They’ll most likely win of course but 8/13’s not really doing it. 27/10 with BTTS is better though and the score draw’s yours at 4/1 if you’re feeling adventurous. In the scorers have a look at Bony, 9/4 any time.
Prediction: 2-1 (15/2)
Hull v West Brom
Time was a 1-0 home win for Hull was pretty much nailed on, but they’ve not won in 5 at the KC, and conceded 10 along the way. Pepe Mel loves a draw so lets back West Brom to nick a point at 23/10. I’ve got a feeling there’ll be goals though so might have a nibble on 3.5+ at 18/5. Long (against his former club) and Jelavic seem the most likely to get them, both are 6/4 any time.
Prediction: 2-2 (20/1)
Man City v Fulham
Been a while since City put 5 or 6 past a side… 1/7 for the win’s no good so it’ll have to be the -3 handicap at 11/5. 4.5+ match goals at 17/10 looks pretty good too. David Silva played a blinder last weekend so get on him to score first at 5/1 or 11/ any time. No Kompany for the home side though, so BTTS, EVS.
Prediction: 5-1 (20/1)
Newcastle v Crystal Palace
Palace ground out a 0-0 at Sunderland last week and I can see them getting something here too against a Newcastle side without Loic Remy or a manager in the stadium. The draw’s 5/2, away win 10/3 and at 17/20 the double chance might even be worth a look if you’re feeling super cautious. 17/10 on fewer than 1.5 match goals is the one for me though.
Prediction: 0-0 (17/2)
Norwich v Sunderland
Quite a few times this season Chris Hughton has looked to be on the verge of the sack, only to keep the wolf from the door with a narrow victory that allows him to stumble on for a few more weeks. This could be one of them, just don’t expect a classic. Going for less than 1.5 again, at 17/10, again.
Prediction: 1-0 (6/1)
West Ham v Man Utd 17:30
March hasn’t been as kind on the Hammers as February was, and they’ve lost both their games so far this month. So I’ll give United the benefit of the doubt (Olympiakos was probably a morale-booster) and call the away win with BTTS at 27/10. Won’t actually be putting any money on it, mind…
Prediction: 1-2 (15/2)
SUNDAY
Tottenham v Southampton 13:30
Spurs are on a rotten run at present but Tim Sherwood’s record against teams below them in the league is pretty good. They’ve won their last 3 against Southampton too so 23/20 on them making it 4 looks decent, as does 17/5 with BTTS. Though the Saints playing away, in London can only mean one thing, Jay Rodriguez to score first (7/1).
Prediction: 2-1 (8/1)
Aston Villa v Stoke 16:00
Decent wins for both last weekend, mutual disappointment this. Draw for me (5/2), with Odemwingie getting on the scoresheeet. Looks good at 9/4, that.
Prediction: 1-1 (6/1)
ACCA: Wins for Chelsea, Liverpool, Man City and Spurs, along with under 1.5 goals in the games at Carrow Road and St James’s Park comes out at just under 48/1!
