CHELSEA
In: André Schürrle (Bayer Leverkusen, £18m), Marco van Ginkel (Vitesse Arnhem, £9m), Cristian Cuevas (O'Higgins, £3m), Mark Schwarzer (Fulham, Free), Stipe Perica (NK Zadar, Undisclosed).

Out: Jeffrey Bruma (PSV Eindhoven, £2.5m), Ross Turnbull (Doncaster, Free), Florent Malouda (Trabzonspor, Free).
Released: Yossi Benayoun,, Hilario.
Retired: Paulo Ferreira.

Prediction: 1st

I’m going for a title win to mark Jose Mourinho’s return to English football. Were Fergie still at United, that would be a more difficult decision to make, but with the top 3 all starting the season with a new man at the helm, Jose’s experience in this country and at this level is the clincher for me.

The arrival of André Schürrle and the return of Lukaku should provide more goals than last season, and ensure less reliance on Torres and Ba. The Rooney saga is a sort of transfer six-pointer in that it’d strengthen Chelsea and weaken United in one fell swoop. If they can pull that off, a tight title win could become a comfortable one.

RE: CHELSEA: NEW SEASON PREVIEW
with mourinho coming back and all the signings from last year settled you would expect them to really challenge for the title, but the problem i see is mourinho only plays one up front and i dont think torres is the same player any more. i cant see him scoring enough goals or performing in the big matches when it matters.

RE: CHELSEA: NEW SEASON PREVIEW
I think Lukaku will see a fair bit of game time and Eto'o wouldn't be a bad short-term option. Torres will get one more year I reckon. Don't think Abrahmovic will want to say goodbye to his £50m just yet and maybe Mourinho can get the best out of him? I think he improved last season but was still way off where he should have been.

Here's that undercover video of Samuel Eto'o getting slammed by Jose Mourinho.

Looks like he's got a touch of the Minalas; 32? 35? Who knows...

RE: CHELSEA
There's always a chance it's 'mind games' of course, but if Mourinho has his way Chelsea will field the reserves at Anfield on Sunday. "I can't decide by myself, I think that's a decision I have to listen the club. I'm just a piece, I'm just the manager and no more than that.

"I have to listen to the club. I think the fact that the match is on Sunday I think puts the problem not in my hands.

"We represent English football and we are the only English team that is in European competition. Spain has four and gave them all the conditions to try to have success.

"I know what I would do, but I'm not the club. I have to speak with the club.

"I would play with the players that are not going to play Wednesday."

What an absolute bell-end. They've got a 5 day gap between last night and Sunday, and then another 3 days to prepare for the second leg after that. It's hardly fixture congestion.

And you can guarantee that if he does select the stiffs, and they lose, he'll be claiming that the Premier League have cost him the title by not having the game on Saturday. Is it not more likely, with the way Liverpool are playing at the moment, that they'd batter his first eleven too and he's just given up?

Prioritise the Champions League if you want, but spare us the hard-done-by act and the early excuses. Ta.

Jose Mourinho

Members of the Chelsea squad

Chelsea clear to name weakened team against Liverpool

Chelsea are not expected to face punishment from the Premier League if manager Jose Mourinho decides to field a weakened team at Liverpool on Sunday.
League regulations have been relaxed since Blackpool were fined in 2011.
Action is only likely if they select several under-21 players not in their 25-man squad for Premier League games.
Chelsea's run-in
Sun 27 April: v Liverpool (A)
Weds 30 April: v Atletico Madrid (H)
Sat 3 May: v Norwich (H)
Sun 11 May: v Cardiff (A)
Mourinho has hinted he will prioritise Wednesday's Champions League semi-final second leg with Atletico Madrid, which is goalless after Tuesday's away leg.
With three Premier League matches remaining, Chelsea, who last won the title in 2010, are second, five points behind leaders Liverpool, and only a point clear of Manchester City, who have a game in hand.
Midfield duo Frank Lampard and John Obi Mikel could both feature at Anfield as they are suspended for the second leg against the Spanish team.
Nemanja Matic and Mohamed Salah have also been tipped to play against Liverpool because they are ineligible for European competition this season.

Club 'will help Mourinho pick squad for Liverpool'
Goalkeeper Petr Cech and skipper John Terry will miss out through injury, but even with a team comprised mainly of fringe players, Chelsea's XI would be likely to be more expensive than Liverpool's in terms of transfer fees.
Three members of their personnel are currently facing Football Association charges.
Mourinho has been charged with misconduct for comments he made following the defeat by Sunderland at Stamford Bridge last weekend.
Assistant Rui Faria has been handed two counts of misconduct after he had to be restrained from confronting referee Mike Dean during that match.
Midfielder Ramires has been charged following an off-the-ball incident with Sunderland's Sebastian Larsson.WHAT A FUCKING FARCE,HOPE THEY GET SO SLAUGHTERED.
