Has anyone been watching this show ? When I saw the trailers I thought it looked quite intersting and thought it would be somehting I would follow. But the first episode was not even that intriguing and the plot was pretty standard stuff.
However I know that it can be hard for a show to get in to its stride from the start so gave it a little more time but frankly after the third episode I just could not be bothered. Has anyone watched it all through ? Is it getting any better ? Is it worth me catching up ?

I have been watching this (actually started a thread about it before which is somewhere on the second page but that`s not important now) anyway i would recommend you give it a bit more chance, i think it`s a good series and the arc plot is interesting and is building up well(although i did like it from episode 1 so it`s not the same circumstances) plus it has interesting characters, Sam Neill`s character is my personal favourite.

Some bad news for anyone who has been watching and liking Alcatraz ( including myself) Fox have officially cancelled Alcatraz, apparently it wasn't getting very good rating's, that's a bit unfair really it was a good show and much better than Touch (which got renewed despite bad ratings, and being boring as hell)

Have to say I tried watching this but frankly just got a little bored it was becoming abit obvious in its story themes and you started to know in advance what the endings were going to be. Shame it had some very good actors in the cast but I think the story and plots needed a bith more work.

Having watched the last episode of the series (well watched it last week) have to say i`m even more dissapointed it was cancelled the story was shaping up nicely and it was really starting to find it`s feet mid series, the ending would have been good if it wasn`t a total ending and more of a cliffhanger to the next series, but as a last episode it`s annoyingly open and teases at things which can never be answered.
I honestly think they should give all series at least two or two and a half series to give them chance to get going (especially if they are shows which are trying to build a mythology slowly and not just dump it all in at the beginning) a lot of good shows have been cancelled because the studio`s didn`t give them chance, i think Alcatraz is one of them.

I liked Alcatraz, I didnt know they cancelled it, I thought it was just the end of the series. That's disappointing to hear as I'm a huge Sci-fi fan. But I agree with you Jesslloydfan that they should give a series at least a couple seasons to see how it pans out.
