Personally i`d recommend watching Battle Royale instead (i imagine some will disagree with what i just typed lol)

couldn't agree more, pretty much every review i've read has said the same thing, apparently the film is seriously slow and even the big battle in the middle is a joke as they had to edit it so heavily and use loads of shaky shots to get the rating they wanted, the book which is it's bassed on, which is actually ment for children is more violent than the film. i've yet to actually read a good review of it excluding the few that were obviously just being paid etc... as they basically described it as the best film ever.
battle royale is by far the better film and as i said i fully agree the author of hunger games seriously ripped the author of battle royale off

i'll be honest and say when i first heard about the film/watched a teaser trailer i didn't realise there were books so i thought it was going to be a 18 or 15 cert, and be kind of like a modern battle royale which would be kind of cool as none of the battle royale films had a big budget by hollywoods standards but then i found out it was based on childrens books, and that the film would be a 12 and i lost all interest i once had in it.
as i said all reviews i've seen have used words like "boring" "too long" "bad" and "childish" kind of tells me all i need to know in conjuction with what i mentioned above.
saving up my months pay to go see lockdown (i think that's what it's called, the new sci fi space prison film) and avengers this month. on a slightly unrelated note it's stupid how expensive tickets are getting, it used to be the case popcorn was stupidly pricey but the tickets weren't too bad, but they just keep on ramping up the ticket prices all the while either keeping all the sweet/drink etc.. prices the same or raising them as well.
i know there's inflation etc... but they had such a massive profit margin it's taking the piss.
and they wonder why piracy is so rampant!
oh on another slightly unrelated note, is it just me or are there getting less and less 18 certs nowadays? back when i was say 14 or so, all the really good films were 18's which pissed me off as i couldn't get in to see them. but now it seems a very rare thing to get a 18, and also what's allowed in the ratings seems different than when i was younger. for example they seem to be allowed a lot more swearing in say a 12 or 15 than i ever remember there being. i'm not complaining per say, just find it odd

Exactly, and even if the story wasn`t a shameless rip off of Battle Royale, you can`t shoot a film which is essentially about a deathmatch where kids have to kill each other and edit it down to a 12 and still have good action scenes(you can always see when action is edited down to acheive a rating)
And to be totally honest i got sick of hearing about this before it was even out.
