The D-Type Jaguar is making a comeback!
Up there with the quickest cars of its day, the D-Type notched up three consecutive Le Mans wins between 1955 and 1957.  Unfortunately the lads back in Coventry weren't quite as speedy, with just 75 of the planned 100 car production run ever seeing the light of day.

Though better (more than 60 years!) late than never, the final 25 are finally happening as part of Jaguar's Continuation project.

Here's a bit from Jaguar Land Rover Classic Director Tim Hannig: “The Jaguar D-type is one of the most iconic and beautiful competition cars of all time, with an outstanding record in the world’s toughest motor races. And it’s just as spectacular today.”

“The opportunity to continue the D-type model’s success story, by completing its planned production run in Coventry, is one of those once-in-a-lifetime projects that our world-class experts at Jaguar Land Rover Classic are proud to fulfill.”

Yep, we're keen.  Some pics!
