Got around to checking out the true story 'Only the brave' the other day. Has anyone else seen it? What did you think? This true story stars (amongst others) Josh Brolin, Miles Teller, Jeff Bridges, a still impossibly fit Jennifer Connolly etc.. The film tells the story of the 'Granite mountain hotshots', a group of firefighters in america that wind up at the forefront of wild fires and trying to stop them. Personally, i enjoyed the film. The performances were very solid, the fire scenes themselves were done very well..most natably the climactic fire event..theres a lot to enjoy and appreciate here and its a safe bet that the film has done the team itself a justice. On a down side, the film does sometimes get bogged down in almost soap worth melodrama and whilst elements are exciting enough, its pretty obvious after seeing it that the bulk of the films gravitas and emotional punch comes into play during the last 20 to 30 minutes. Would still recommend giving this a looksee, give it a chance and a while to get properly going and you'll be rewarded.
