  The official trailer for Tomb Raider dropped today and Alicia Vikander’s debut as Lara Croft is making fans of the game a little overexcited.
  
  
   
  Tomb Raider is a reboot of the film franchise that starred Angeline Jolie as Lara, which lets face it, was pretty piss-poor and her British accent was terrible. In this version, Lara sets off on her adventure as ordered by her dead father, who left her a message before he died. On her way to a mysterious tomb called Mother of Death, her ship wrecks, and she finds herself stuck on an island with a bunch of very angry inhabitants. Check out the trailer:
  
  
  
  I think Alicia Vikander is a great choice as Lara. She's not some porny, over-the-top version like Ange which I think will make for a way better film. Plus she can actually act! Tomb Raider is due to hit cinemas on 16th March 2018.

  Looks alright for an action flick and there's plenty in keeping with the recent games. Not a cinema one for me but I'll definitely watch it at some point.

  Thanks for posting the trailer fr this, ReedeFox. Saw a version of the trailer latched onto 'Justice League' (not sure if its the same trailer) and whilst it didnt't exctly have me wanting to pen its release on my calender as required cinema viewing,  for me it certainly begs a look on home release. Certainly didnt do the required amount to make me want to part with the kinda cash that adds up to the cos of a couple of cinema tickets. Young Miss Vikander (is it still miss..i dont know) certainly looks the part.

  Got around to checking this, er, re-imagining (yeah..lets go with that) of a 'Tomb Raider' film the other day..and have gotta say i didn't hate it. Ok, granted it seems to take forever to get to any actual tomb raiding but, suppose this is an origin story of a sorts so will let that slide. The film moves at a brisk pace (no bad thing), plenty of action (effects have certainly come on a long way since the Angelina Jolie featured films)..chuck into the mix the fact that Alicia looks fantastic..especially in that top (Fassbender me old mate..let me shake your hand). If memory serves this did not do tremendous buisness at the box office and critical response was all over the shop. so not sure if a follow up will ever see the light of day. Is this a classic for iour times..no chance but as for popcorn fodder purposes it's actually pretty darn sound.
