The backdrop switces in this to a victorian age Gotham and deals with Batman trying to stop Jack the Ripper. The story moves at a brisk pace without feeling rushed, cant fault the animation, theres a more than adequate amount of action and the Ripper's identity isn't as cut and dry as you would be led to believe. As for the bad..could really have done with more action (there's an awful lot of chat in this one) which leads to my other gripe..the dialogue. Fair enough, it was how folks talked back then but somehow feels outta place and in the way here (takes a bit of getting used to). Those minor niiggles aside i'd say with a relative amount of confidence that most fans of dc/Batman animated offerings would find this enjoyable (but no classic).
