Got around to checking out 'Pacific Rim : Uprising' the other day and, in all honesty, it put me to sleep. The first film was actually a well structured, pretty exciting slice of popcorn fodder. This sequel on the other hand was a bit of a sugar covered turd..whilst flashy, loud with plenty of building being destroyed, as far as the acting ability, story, script and structure went..this did not come up to scratch. *SPOILER* you wnd up having to wait the lions share of the film for the bonafide Kuyju to appear and when they do it all feels a bit like they are there in the film just for the sake of it, just sorta bunged in there. Once again, despite his efforts, Boyega was at his best on 'Attack the block' and has only gone south from then on in. Cant recall if the fella in this, who appears in the horrible boses movies, was in the 1st film? In this , as an attempt to bring a relative comedic element with a twist to proceedings..just does not work. Think i got to around the 90 minute mark before my body just thought 'Nah, next please'. Fam watched the remainder and assured me that i did not miss much of anything.
