Call via free mins

Hi guys, i've noticed when trying to make calls with free minutes, even if you enter the pin straight away, it still says the whole 'please enter the 4-digit pin displayed on your screen, if you do not have a pin, press the 'get pin' button', before connecting, as opposed to Firecall, which connects automatically, so valuable time is being lost when calling, meaning it's not as quick getting to said channel's menu, thus making it easier being beaton by someone
Not sure if i'm the only one to find this slightly frustrating, but wondered if there was anything that could be done to speed up the menu if calling by free mins?
