  Nico Rosberg believes he can beat world title rival Lewis Hamilton at the British Grand Prix on Sunday if everything goes right for him at Silverstone.
  
  Mercedes boss Toto Wolff says there were last-minute efforts to scupper Lewis Hamilton's new contract with rival drivers desperate to get a seat with the world champions.
  
  McLaren boss Ron Dennis remains confident the British team can recover from a difficult period to become a major force again and says their commitment remains to become world champions .

  Mercedes may relent on engine development for good of F1
  
  Mercedes' Toto Wolff says it will consider changing its position on engine development in an effort to offer a lifeline to Renault and Honda in the interests of the sport as a whole.
  
  With Renault struggling to bring its much maligned power unit up to speed within the fairly restrictive development parameters set in the wake of introducing the V6 Hybrid regulations, and Honda also well behind after a tough start to its latest F1 endeavour, Mercedes admits the limitations could be up for review.
  
  With this in mind, Mercedes admits that in order to do the best thing for the sport, it may be willing to agree to concessions that would offer Renault and Honda a chance to develop more rapidly

  McLaren driver Jenson Button has endorsed the possible return of ground effect aerodynamics to Formula 1 in 2017.
  
  As part of the Strategy Group's goal to have lighter and faster cars in F1, and better racing, a proposal focusing on ground effect underbodies was tabled, AUTOSPORT revealed during the British Grand Prix weekend.
  
  With teams invited to submit suggestions, Red Bull flagged a fundamental switch in how downforce is generated, moving away from complex front and rear wings to underbodies.
  
  As used by GP2, a longer underbody tunnel would be a throwback to the ground-effect cars from the late 1970s and early '80s, less sensitive to running in dirty air.
  
  The Strategy Group had previously announced plans to revert to a wider rear tyre - 420mm, a size last seen in 1992 - in 2017 which would increase mechanical grip.
  
  This is great news seeing that at Silverstone F1 cars were only about 3 seconds a lap quicker than GP2

  Ferrari Formula 1 driver Sebastian Vettel took victory in a dramatic Hungarian Grand Prix, as Mercedes duo Lewis Hamilton and Nico Rosberg suffered their worst race of the season
  It was the German's first victory at the Hungaroring and second of the season, bringing his career tally to 41 to equal three-time world champion Ayrton Senna's mark.
  
  It was also the first time since the 2013 Brazilian Grand Prix, a run of 29 races, where Mercedes failed to score a podium finish with either car with Hamilton sixth and Rosberg eighth.
  
  Lewis now has a 21 point lead c'mon son

  It made a lovely difference seeing the Mercedes both make a bit of a meal of it. And all that last race managed to do was confirm that Lewis really can't lose this title. He falls back into the pack and still manages to get past Nico.
  Nico clearly doesn't have the bottle for the title.

  Yeah it was a really good race, just when it looked like Nico was gonna be right back in the race a bad timed pit stop turned everything around and Lewis finished ahead of him. He definitely is the man of the moment right now and as Ecclestone said it's good for the sport with him being number one because of his celebrity status to help bring more relevance to the sport.

  Nico clearly just doesn't have the stones for it. And it looks worse for him when Ferrari and Williams are on their game as they can beat him.
  When Mecedes are on form and Lewis beats him its just down to Lewis being better, but when Lewis does well and he makes a meal of it then its all down to him messing it up.

  And another win for Lewis Hamilton as he now goes 28 points clear of Nico Rosberg. No question he is the better driver but who do you guys feel is the best driver overall, Lewis, Alonso or Vettel? Last season I definitley would have said Alonso was the best driver on his day what do you guys think?

  Mercedes chairman Niki Lauda says Lewis Hamilton is "unbeatable" in his current form and team-mate Nico Rosberg will have to hope the reigning world champion makes a mistake in order to regain the upper hand. Such a big statement from the chairman, if I was Rosberg this would push me even harder to wanna win the title

  Well if the championship wasn't over already it definitely is now, perfect situation for Hamilton fans he won the race and his closest rival got a DNF. It is gonna take a astronomic collapse of form, bad luck or reliability problems which is unlikely for Nico to win this
