From James Wan and Blumhouse comes this new horror film that has parallels to the classic Chucky franchise. Alisson Williams from Get Out stars as the lead in this about tech genius that creates an android friend for a little girl who's primary objective is to protect her. But maybe the programming went a bit too far in terms of knowing when not to cross certain lines.

Here’s the latest trailer for ‘Megan’ and she sure is one creepy little fecker. A somewhat chibi Elizabeth Olsen in full Mean Girl mode.

Very entertaining. Credit to Blumhouse, James Wan and Akeela Cooper. The world in which this story inhabits is established from the get go. The way we're introduced to Cady and her situation is abrupt in a very good way. Gemma's professional life and her working environment makes sense as to why she makes some of the decisions she does. The score, sound design, CGI and production design all are great. Given it's commercial and critical success and the ending too, it's inevitable that this will now become a franchise. -

I’ve heard nothing but positive things about Megan and while I’ve not yet seen it I am very excited to. It’s immediate success has lead to a sequel getting the green light for release early next year. Here’s what the guys down at Honest Trailers thought of it.

I recently watched M3gan and I must admit that I feel a bit let down by the movie. Based on the trailers and reviews I had seen beforehand, I was expecting a truly terrifying horror experience. However, the film just didn't deliver in that regard.
Although the movie did feature a few nods to classic horror tropes - such as the little dance from the nightmare - these moments weren't enough to create the kind of tension and fear that I was hoping for. I also found the stark use of color, with a contrast between orange and blue, to be somewhat uninteresting and lacking in the eerie atmosphere that one might expect from a horror film.
One of the other issues that I had with the movie was its tendency to elude to kills rather than show them on screen. While this approach can work for some horror movies, I felt that it didn't work as well in this case, as it made the overall experience feel more predictable and even a bit boring at times. It's possible that this contributed to the feeling that the movie was rated too low, with it feeling more like a 12 than a 15.
Unfortunately, my experience with M3gan was doubly disappointing, as I not only lost my time watching the movie, but also spent £15.99 to rent it on Home Premier via Amazon. It's never fun to feel like you've wasted both time and money on a movie that doesn't live up to expectations.
Overall, I must say that I was quite disappointed by M3gan. While I appreciate the effort that went into making the movie, it just didn't deliver the kind of horror experience that I was looking for. Hopefully, others will be able to make more informed decisions about whether or not to watch this film based on my experience.
Here’s what Honest Trailers had to say.
