Rick and Morty fans were treated to the news that the show’s fourth season would be returning next month but that news was slightly bittersweet because we also found out that the new season will only be five episodes long. Is that all?!

Adult Swim shared the trailer along with the disclaimer about the unusually short season but fans were left wondering if we'll be treated to more episodes after Christmas. After all, the other seasons had 11 episodes and this will be less than half so it would make sense to give us a few then hit us with more after a short hiatus. Or is this just wishful thinking?!

Apparently though, five episodes is all Adult Swim could handle for now. As per the trailer: ‘Half the season you deserve, all the season we could handle.’ I mean it's probably not an easy season to write so I guess we should be grateful.

    Here's the trailer:

Let's just hope that the episodes are worth the wait. The fourth season of Rick and Morty will be available to watch from Sunday, November 10th.

It's a touch concerning since the show has been signed up by Adult Swim for 70 episodes. To be honest I'd rather have less of it and it continues to be well written than them flog it to death like the Simpsons. More than up for shows finishing when they should rather than being kept alive because the cash cow is particularly plump.

Some fan theories to whet your whistle, even if the last series intentionally put this sort of thing to bed.

It’s been a long time since I’ve watched anything Rick and Morty based, are they even still making it what with the discovery of Justin Roiland being a wrong-un, leading to his inevitable cancellation?

This little video made in unreal engine 5 was a bit of fun though, way less convoluted than anything passed season 3.
